Something to believe in…….
Original, hand-painted piece.
How this piece came to be:
I saw a post by my friend Robyn, asking if anyone wanted to donate a gift, for holiday baskets for a children’s hospital……My heart jumped on this call! Wow, I could create a piece of art for these children and the families!!! I wanted the piece to shine a bit of love and light into there world, YES!!!!! I could not wait to break out my paints!!!
I created this piece for the Golisano’s Children’s Hospital- at Strong Hospital in Rochester, NY. This piece will be included in a 100 holiday gift basket to be received by sick and terminally ill children.
I had no idea or expectations of what this piece would become. I trusted to be guided by my Intuition and let it flow through my paint brush.
As I lit a candle and made a cup of tea, I took a moment to pause- and set my intentions of healing, love and the power of light. I thought about my own little children and how blessed I am, and for our health. I thought about the sick children, the families and sent them love on a whisper.
I wanted this piece to express joy, love and hope…. I lifted my paint brush and let it take hold as I trusted and learned to ‘Believe’.
My guiding word on this piece is, ‘ believe ‘, In hopes that everyone one who sees this piece ( the nurses, doctors, children and family members) can see a little glimmer of hope.
“To be·lieve“, to have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something, although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so: Only if one believes in something can one act purposefully.
“be·lieve” to have confidence or faith in the truth.
The dragonfly totem carries the wisdom of transformation and adaptability in life. As spirit animal, the dragonfly is connected to the symbolism of change and light. When the dragonfly shows up in your life, it may remind you to bring a bit more lightness and joy into your life.
Dragonflies are powerful allies to connect with the spirit of nature. Their fairy-like quality makes them auspicious spirit animals to work with the power of light and fairy realms.
The dragonfly can bring forth the enchanting spirit of our own nature. When you see this spirit animal, allow yourself to open up to the magic of nature and the elements.
By affinity with the dragonfly aerial lightness, those who have this animal as totem can develop the ability to take things lightly even in the darkest moments. Lightness in feelings, lightness in thoughts. The dragonfly spirit animal invites people to keep a light, positive outlook no matter what.
The dragonfly is often seen around water, ponds or on the edge of a river or lake. It symbolizes the affinity with the realm of feelings, water being a powerful symbol for emotions and the unconscious. If the spirit of the dragonfly comes to you, you may be called to explore your emotions in a light and joyful manner.
